Swedish – Gentle Relaxation
Swedish Massage is a soothing, nurturing massage intended to quiet the mind, relax tight musculature and soothe the soul. Swedish massage is a general full body massage session with little or no focus on specific areas. A relaxation session creates a space where one can release and let go of any business of the day and to get in touch with the present moment. If you wish to include focused work on a specific area, a 90 minute or 120 minute session is recommended. A relaxation massage may be enhanced with the addition of Hot Stones or Aromatherapy.

Specific Deep Tissue
Deep Tissue Massage is a method using focused slow paced pressure that affects the deeper layers of muscles. We will direct attention to specific areas that you help identify and that have been assessed by your therapist. Optimal pressure is determined based on the client’s preference and therapist’s skill, experience and judgment. Deep tissue massage may be combined with any other therapy offered. Many frequently request a combination of Deep Tissue with Ashiatsu Oriental Bar Therapy, or with Hot Stone Therapy.

Ashiatsu Oriental Bar Therapy – Barefoot Massage
Ashiatsu is an ancient form of barefoot massage with a truly western spin. Ashi means foot and atsu means pressure in Japanese. With the feet, the therapist applies deep, flowing compression strokes to the body while using bars mounted from the ceiling for support and balance. This has been called the deepest, most luxurious massage on the planet. Ashiatsu is excellent for athletes, larger clients, those with lower back, shoulder, hip pain, or simply for someone looking to try something new and different. A true favorite for many clients.

Sports / Stretching
You do not need to be an athlete to enjoy the many benefits that Sports Massage and Stretching provide. It is a modality for any one seeking massage for injury, chronic pain, or restricted movement as well as those active in sports. Sports Massage incorporates many specific techniques and stretching to help maintain healthy, flexible joints and musculature. It has been proven to prevent injury and enhance performance as well as aid in injury recovery.

Zen Shiatsu – Acupressure
Shiatsu means finger pressure in Japanese. Zen Shiatsu is Japanese bodywork and acupressure based on Traditional Chinese Medicine. One of the causes of pain and disease is an imbalance in the flow of the bodies life force, chi or ki in Japanese. By applying finger or palm pressure along any of the 12 energy meridians of the body, balance may be restored. This work is excellent for any physical discomfort and helps to create emotional, mental, and spiritual harmony as well.

Myofascial Therapy
Fascia is a network of tough connective tissue covering and connecting muscles, organs and skeletal structures of the body. Trauma, injuries, stress, inflammation and poor posture may result in restriction of the fascia. Myofascial Massage Therapy is an effective, manual technique for releasing these restrictions of the soft tissue. Ultimately the goal is to diminish or eliminate pain and holding patterns and increase range of motion.

Pre/Post Natal
Safe, healthy and helpful massage for expectant and new mothers. A relaxing and comforting massage with special consideration for soft tissue changes associated with pregnancy and postpartum. A wonderful healing experience for mother and baby.

Hot Stone Therapy
Hot Stones have been used for thousands of years in many cultures as a tool for healing. We use hot stones as an extension of our hands while maintaining sensitivity of touch to enhance our bodywork. The heat from the stones penetrates deep to increase circulation, remove toxins, clear negativity and promote deep relaxation. This beautiful and balancing therapy is great for those cold winter days in the mountains or any season. Hot stone Therapy may compliment any of our therapies to deepen your healing.

Rain Drop Therapy
This technique uses pure therapeutic grade essential oils to detoxify, strengthen, and align the body’s structure and energy. Rain Drop Therapy is based on Lakota Native healing practices and medicinal essential oils that are dropped through the energetic field onto the spine, much like rain. The oils are activated by hot compresses to release toxins, stimulate and strengthen the immune system, relieve pain and balance emotions. This is a transformational massage technique, and a treat not to be missed.

Aromatherapy
Poetically called the life force of a plant, essential oils are very complex. Essential oils are stored in special cells, ducts or glandular hairs that are distributed among the roots, leaves, bark stems, and flowers of a plant. Uplifting, protective, calming and regenerating, essential oils are a unique gift from the plant world. A single oil may contain hundreds of constituents that are molecularly aligned in an exact manner to trigger a number of responses in the human body. Very concentrated and very powerful, a drop or two of distilled therapeutic grade essential oil produces quick and significant results. The most advanced civilizations in the world – the Egyptians, Greeks, Romans, and Chinese – relied upon the vast power of pure plant essential oils to regain, increase, and maintain a healthy body and strong mind.

Young Living Essentials Oils
Health at Hand Therapeutic Massage uses only the purest therapeutic grade oils we can find. Essential oils are a beautiful way to enhance any therapeutic massage.

Unanticipated events happen occasionally in everyone's life. In my desire to be effective and fair to all clients, the following policies are honored:

24 hour advance notice is required when cancelling an appointment. This allows the opportunity for someone else to schedule an appointment.

Late Arrivals
If you arrive late, your session may be shortened in order to accommodate others whose appointments follow yours. Depending upon how late you arrive, will then determine if there is enough time remaining to start a treatment. Regardless of the length of the treatment actually given, you will be responsible for the "full" session.

It is an honor to serve you and I look forward to seeing you soon!
